한국의 8월 수출이 역대 최대 반도체 실적에 힘입어 982억 달러를 넘어섰다. 지난 6월 이후 3개월 연속 900억 달러 돌파다.
Exports last month reached USD 98.25 billion thanks to record semiconductor sales, the third consecutive month for such shipments to exceed USD 90 billion.
산업통상자원부가 1일 발표한 '2026년 8월 수출입동향'에 따르면 8월 한국 수출은 전년 동월 대비 68.7% 증가한 982억 5000만 달러다. 수입은 22.5% 늘어난 635억 1000만 달러로 집계됐다. 이에 따라 무역수지는 347억 5000만 달러 흑자를 기록했다.
In its monthly report on exports and imports, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources on Sept. 1 said overseas shipments last month surged 68.7% year on year to USD 98.25 billion. Imports rose 22.5% to USD 63.51 billion, leading to a trade surplus of USD 34.75 billion.
20대 주력 품목 중 14개 품목이 상승세를 견인했다. Fourteen of the country's top 20 export items led growth.
수출 효자는 단연 반도체다. 인공지능(AI) 인프라 수요가 이어지며 전년 동월 대비 209% 폭증한 466억 5000만 달러를 기록해 역대 최고치를 경신했다. 저장장치(NAND) 가격 상승 효과를 본 컴퓨터(62억 4000만 달러)도 역대 최대 실적을 냈다. 무선통신기기, 석유제품, 석유화학, 이차전지가 뒤를 이었다.
Semiconductors were the leading driver thanks to sustained demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure, with exports skyrocketing 209% to an August record USD 46.65 billion. Computers (USD 6.24 billion) also set an all-time high thanks to rising prices for NAND flash memory. Other items with strong growth included wireless communication devices, petroleum products, petrochemicals and secondary batteries.
K-뷰티와 K-푸드에 인기에 힘입어 바이오헬스(14억 1000만 달러)와 화장품(13억 1000만 달러), 농수산식품(9억 8000만 달러) 역시 8월 기준 최대 실적을 달성했다. 반면 자동차 수출은 29.8% 감소한 38억 9000만 달러에 그쳤다.
Backed by the global popularity of domestic beauty and cuisine, exports of biohealth (USD 1.41 billion), cosmetics (USD 1.31 billion), and agriculture, fishery and food (USD 980 million) also broke August records. Those of cars, however, fell 29.8% to USD 3.89 billion.
지역별로는 9대 주요 지역 중 중동지역과 CIS(독립국가연합)을 제외한 7곳에서 수출이 늘었다. 대중국 수출은 지난해 같은 기간에 견줘 119.3% 증가한 241억 달러로 3개월 연속 200억 달러를 웃돌았다. 대미국 수출도 반도체와 컴퓨터 호조로 89.3% 증가한 165억 달러를 기록했다. 아세안(190억 9000만 달러)과 유럽연합(66억 2000만 달러) 수출도 상승 흐름을 이어갔다.
By region, exports increased in seven of Korea's nine major markets except for the Middle East and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Those to China shot up 119.3% to USD 24.1 billion, their third consecutive month of exceeding USD 20 billion, while those to the U.S. rose 89.3% to USD 16.5 billion thanks to strong demand for chips and computers. Exports to Southeast Asia (USD 19.09 billion) and the European Union (USD 6.62 billion) also maintained growth.
김정관 산업통상부 장관은 "반도체 강세 속에 비반도체 품목도 20%대 높은 성장세를 보여 수출 저변이 점차 확대되고 있다"고 평가했다.
Minister of Trade, Industry and Resources Kim Jung-Kwan said, "Amid the strong semiconductor market, non-semiconductor items are also showing high growth in the 20% range, showing the gradual expansion of the export base."
