한국 병원, 아·태 전문병원 평가 10개 중 9개 분야 1위 - Three hospitals in Seoul lead Asia in nine specialties: Newsweek

한국 주요 병원들이 아시아·태평양 지역 최고 전문병원 평가에서 10개 임상 분야 중 9개를 석권하며 세계 최고 수준의 의료 역량을 입증했다.

Three major domestic hospitals are considered world leaders by topping nine out of 10 clinical fields in the latest evaluation of the best specialized hospitals in Asia.

미국 시사주간지 뉴스위크가 18일(현지 시간) 발표한 '2026 아시아·태평양 최고 전문병원(Best Specialized Hospitals Asia-Pacific 2026)' 평가 결과 한국 병원들이 압도적인 성적을 거뒀다.

The U.S. magazine Newsweek on June 18 said this in its latest annual list of the "Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific."

서울아산병원이 순환기(심장), 심장 수술, 신경, 내분비, 정형외과 등 5개 분야에서 아태 지역 1위에 올랐다. 삼성서울병원은 암, 호흡기, 소화기 등 3개 분야에서 정상을 차지했다. 서울대병원은 소아청소년 분야에서 최고 병원으로 이름을 올렸다.

Asan Medical Center ranked first in Asia in five specialties — cardiology, cardiac surgery, neurology, endocrinology and orthopedics — while Samsung Medical Center led three: oncology, pulmonology and gastroenterology.

Seoul National University Children's Hospital was named Asia's best institution for pediatrics.

이번 평가는 한국, 일본, 호주, 싱가포르, 대만 등 11개국 의료진 8000여 명을 대상으로 실시했다. 순위 산정에는 의료 성과 지표, 환자 만족도, 환자보고결과(PROMs) 등을 종합적으로 반영했다.

The evaluation was based on a survey of some 8,000 medical professionals in 11 countries including Korea, Japan, Australia, Singapore and Taiwan. The rankings reflected a range of criteria like medical performance indicators, patient satisfaction and patient-reported outcome measures.

뉴스위크는 글로벌 조사업체 스타티스타와 함께 매년 2월 세계 최고 병원을, 6월 아시아·태평양 최고 전문병원을 각각 선정해 발표한다.

Newsweek and Statista, a global market research company, jointly conducts the annual survey. The magazine releases its list of the world's best hospitals every February and that of specialized medical facilities in Asia every June.
