Grammar Focus:
-(으)ㄹ 까요? is used when the speaker wants to either to suggest doing something together with the listener or to ask about the listener’s preference regarding something. The subject of these sentences is 우리,which is often omitted. The English equivalent is ‘Shall we...?,or ‘Why don’t we...?. When answering, the suggestive form -(으)ㅂ 시다 or -아/어요 is used. 
When the stem ends in a vowel or ㄹ, -ㄹ까요? is used, and when it ends in a consonant, -을까요? is used.





A: 주말에 같이 노래방에 갈까요? 
Shall we go sing karaoke over the weekend?
B: 네, 좋아요. 같이 가요.
Okay, sounds good. Let's go.

A: 퇴근 후에 술 한 잔 할까요?
Would you like to go for a drink after work?
B: 미안해요. 오늘 약속이 있어요. 다음에 같이 해요.
Sorry. Today, I have other plans. Let’s do it next time.
