This expression indicates that in addition to the fact stated in the preceding clause, there are additional facts stated in the following clause. Note that when the content of the preceding clause is positive, then that of the following clause must be positive, and when the content of the preceding clause is negative, then that of the following clause must also be negative.

1. This expression can be replaced with -(으)ㄹ 뿐만 아니라 without a major change in meaning.
• 만성 피로는 일의 능률을 떨어뜨릴 뿐만 아니라 병을 일으키는 원인이 되기도 한다.
• 아빠는 젊었을 때 노래 실력이 뛰어났을 뿐만 아니라 얼굴도 잘생겨서 인기가 많았다고 한다.

2. However, while -(으)ㄹ 뿐만 아니라 changes to the form 뿐만 아니라 when used with nouns, -(으)ㄹ뿐더러 cannot be changed to 뿐더러 when used with nouns.
• 불고기는 아이뿐만 아니라 어른들도 좋아하는 음식이다. (〇)
• 불고기는 아이뿐더러 어른들도 좋아하는 음식이다. (X)
