정부가 외국인 관광객의 지역 이동 편의를 높이기 위해 대대적인 버스 승차권 할인에 나선다. A massive program of bus ticket discounts seeks to raise the convenience of foreign tourists exploring the provinces.
문화체육관광부와 한국관광공사가 15일부터 다음 달 14일까지 외국인 관광객에게 전국 고속·시외버스 승차권 예매 할인 혜택을 제공한다고 밝혔다.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) on June 15 announced that the program through July 14 offers discounts on express and intercity bus fares to such visitors.
이번 할인 행사는 외국인이 이용할 수 있는 고속·시외버스 온라인 예매 서비스의 인지도를 높이고 전국 곳곳을 둘러보는 관광 이동 편의를 개선하기 위해 마련했다.
This promotion seeks to raise awareness of the online reservation system for such buses available to foreign tourists as well as improve convenience for those who wish to tour other parts of the country.
국제 여행 플랫폼 클룩은 고속버스 예매 서비스를, 한패스는 고속·시외버스 예매 서비스를 제공해 외국인 관광객에게 할인 혜택을 각각 지원한다.
The Hong Kong-based travel platform Klook offers reservations for express buses, while Korea's Hanpass provides the same service for both express and intercity buses, each providing discounts for foreign tourists.
한국관광공사는 승차권 예매에 사용할 수 있는 5000원 할인권을 제공한다. The KTO has a coupon worth KRW 5,000 off ticket reservations.
한패스는 자체 할인 4000원을 추가 지원하며, 클룩은 자사 플랫폼에서 승차권을 예매한 이용객에게 여행용 eSIM을 무료 지급한다.
Hanpass offers an additional KRW 4,000 discount of its own, while Klook provides a free travel eSIM to users who reserve tickets through its platform.
문체부는 “올해 1월부터 4월까지 방한 외국인 관광객 수가 역대 최고치를 경신한 만큼 관계기관과 협력해 외국인 관광객이 전국을 더욱 편리하게 여행할 수 있는 환경을 조성해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
The ministry said, “The number of foreign tourists visiting Korea from January to April this year reached an all-time high, so we will work closely with relevant agencies to create an environment where international visitors can travel across the country more conveniently.”
