외국인 근로자 3명 중 1명, '월 300만 원' 넘게 받는다 - 6.9% of foreign workers in 2025 made over KRW 3M per month

한국에서 근무하는 외국인 근로자 3명 중 1명은 월 임금 300만 원 이상을 받는 것으로 나타났다. More than a third of foreign workers in the country earn over KRW 3 million per month.

국가데이터처가 이 같은 내용을 담은 '2025년 이민자 체류실태 및 고용조사 결과: 체류자격별 외국인의 한국생활' 보고서를 10일 발표했다.

The Ministry of Data and Statistics on March 10 said this in its 2025 joint survey with the Ministry of Justice on the residential and employment status of immigrants.

보고서에 따르면 전체 외국인 임금근로자 중 월평균 '200만∼300만 원 미만' 임금을 받는 비율이 50.2%로 가장 많았다. '300만원 이상'은 36.9%로 다음 순위였다. 외국인 근로자의 절반 가량이 월 200만 원대의 임금을 받고 있으나, 동시에 10명 중 3명꼴로 월 300만 원 이상의 소득을 올리고 있는 셈이다.

Among wage earners, those pulling in between KRW 2 million and KRW 3 million per month comprised the biggest group with 50.2%, followed by 36.9% who made over KRW 3 million.

체류 자격별로 보면 비전문취업(68.9%), 결혼이민(48.9%), 방문취업(42.8%)은 '200만∼300만원 미만' 비중이 가장 높았다. 반면 영주(59.3%), 전문인력(50.8%), 재외동포(46.3%)는 '300만원 이상' 비중이 주를 이뤘다.

By visa type, 68.9% of non-professional workers, 48.9% of marriage immigrants and 42.8% of visiting workers said they made KRW 2 million to KRW 3 million monthly. Yet 59.3% of permanent residents, 50.8% of professional workers and 46.3% of ethnic Koreans from abroad said they earned over KRW 3 million.

외국인 취업자의 근로시간은 '주 40∼50시간 미만'이 58.1%로 가장 많았다. '50∼60시간 미만'이 17.8%, '60시간 이상'은 8.7%였다.

In addition, 58.1% of international workers said they worked 40–50 hours per week, 17.8% 50–60 and 8.7% 60 or more.

직장 만족도는 전체 외국인 노동자 가운데 68.7%가 '만족한다'고 응답했다. 이 중에서 비전문취업 노동자(77.0%)와 전문인력(74.7%)의 만족도가 상대적으로 높았다.

한편 지난해 5월 기준 상주 외국인은 169만 2000명으로 집계됐다. 국적별로 보면 비전문취업, 전문인력, 결혼이민 비자는 우즈베키스탄과 필리핀 등 아시아 국가 출신이 주를 이뤘다. 방문취업, 재외동포, 영주 비자는 한국계 중국인의 비중이 가장 높았다. 유학생은 베트남(42.3%) 국적이 가장 많았다.

The number of expats in May last year reached 1,692,000, with most non-professional and professional workers and marriage immigrants hailing from Asian countries such as Uzbekistan and the Philippines.

Ethnic Koreans from China comprised the majority of those on visas for visiting workers, ethnic Koreans from overseas and permanent residents.

Vietnamese accounted for the largest percentage of international students (42.3%).
