It is used to indicate the speaker's intention or promise for the future. 

When the verb stem ends in a consonant, use '-을게요', and when the verb ends in vowel, use '-ㄹ게요'.

제가 전화를 받을게요.

I will get the phone.

제가 친구들에게 연락할게요.

I will contact my friends.

제가 간식 준비를 도와드릴게요.

I will help you prepare for the snack.
