'글로벌 탤런트 페어'…421개사 글로벌 인재 찾는다 - 421 businesses seek global talent at nation's biggest job fair

내국인과 외국인 청년들에게 취업 기회를 제공하는 국내 최대 규모의 채용 박람회가 열린다. The country's largest job fair slated for later this month in Seoul will offer opportunities for youth both from home and abroad.

한국산업인력공단(산업인력공단)과 대한무역투자진흥공사(KOTRA), 국립국제교육원, 서울특별시, 서초구청 등이 오는 27일과 28일 양일간 서울 코엑스에서 '2024 글로벌 탤런트 페어(GLOBAL TALENT FAIR)'를 공동 개최한다.

At COEX Mall in Seoul's Gangnam-gu District, the 2024 Global Talent Fair will run from Aug. 27-28 under the joint organization of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), National Institute for International Education, Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seocho-gu Office.

고용노동부와 산업통상자원부가 주최하는 이 행사는 국내 청년에게는 해외 취업과 외국인 투자기업의 취업 기회를 제공하며, 외국인 유학생에게도 국내기업의 취업 기회를 제공한다.

Hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the event will offer opportunities for Korean youth to work abroad or at foreign-invested companies at home and for domestic companies to hire international students.

올해는 국내·외 421개사가 참가한다. 참여 기업 중 해외 구인기업은 143개, 외국인투자 기업은 171개, 외국인 채용 희망 국내기업은 107개다.

A combined 421 domestic and overseas businesses will take part in this year's event: 143 from overseas, 171 at home with foreign investment and 107 domestic that wish to hire employees from abroad.

박람회에 참가하는 외국인 투자기업은 판매·영업(30.8%), 공학·엔지니어링(26.5%), 경영·마케팅(22.7%) 분야의 인재를 채용한다.

Among the participating foreign-invested companies, 30.8% seek personnel in sales and operations, 26.5% in engineering, and 22.7% in management and marketing, according to a survey.

외국인 유학생 채용을 희망하는 국내기업은 정보 기술·소프트웨어(33.6%), 판매·영업(29%), 공학·엔지니어링(18.7%), 경영·마케팅(18.7%) 순인 것으로 조사됐다.

Among domestic businesses wishing to hire international students, 33.6% want staff in information and communications technology (ICT) and software, 29% in sales and operations, 18.7% in engineering, and 18.7% in management and marketing.

특히 이번 박람회에는 '첨단산업 채용관'이 신설됐다. 해당 채용관에는 반도체, 미래차, 정보기술·소프트웨어, 바이오, 이차전지, 디스플레이 등 6개 분야 첨단산업 기업 69개사가 참여한다. 주요 글로벌 인재 채용 부문은 공학·엔지니어링, 경영·마케팅, 판매·영업 직종이다.

This year's event added a recruitment hall for high-tech industries featuring 69 cutting-edge companies in six sectors: semiconductors, future cars, ICT and software, biotechnology, secondary batteries and displays. The highest demand is for staff in engineering, management and marketing, and sales and operations.

해외 취업을 희망하는 청년들은 기업 채용관에서 면접 및 채용 상담을, 잡(JOB) 콘서트에서는 채용정보 및 취업 성공사례, 1:1 이력서 첨삭 등의 고용서비스를 받을 수 있다.

Youth who wish to work abroad can get interviews and employment counseling at recruiting booths. Employment services will include a "job concert," in which jobseekers can learn more about jobs, employment success studies and one-on-one critiques of their resumes.

참가를 희망하는 청년들은 27·28일 이틀 동안 코엑스 3층 접수처에 관련 서류를 제출하면 현장에서도 참여할 수 있다. Admission to the two-day fair is done by submitting the required documents on-site on the third floor of COEX Mall.

이우영 산업인력공단 이사장은 "글로벌 탤런트 페어가 해외 구인기업과 대한민국 청년 인재를 연결하는 가교 역할을 할 것으로 기대한다"며 "이번 박람회에서 다양하고 유익한 해외 취업 정보를 얻을 수 있는 만큼 청년들의 많은 참여와 관심을 부탁드린다"라고 말했다.

"I expect the Global Talent Fair to serve as a bridge to connect talented youth in Korea with international companies seeking staff," HRD Korea Chairman Lee Woo-young said. "I ask for many youth to take interest and participate in the fair to get diverse and useful data on overseas employment."

인도네시아에 첫 해외조선인력센터···한국어·조선 기술 교육 - Indonesia opens 1st HR training center for Korean shipping

한국 정부가 인도네시아 정부와 손을 잡고 현지에서 우수한 조선 인력을 양성해 국내 조선 현장에 바로 투입하는 체계를 가동한다. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Indonesia have jointly launched a system to develop outstanding human resources in shipbuilding in the Southeast Asian nation for direct hiring by Korean shipbuilding sites.

산업통상자원부(산업부)가 인도네시아 세랑에 '해외조선인력센터'를 열었다고 5일 밝혔다. 한국어와 조선 기술을 교육하며 조선 인력을 양성하기 위해서다. The ministry on Aug. 5 said it opened a center in the Javanese city of Serang to train personnel in the Korean language and shipbuilding technology to develop workers for the industry.

이를 위해 산업부는 한국 조선해양플랜트협회와 인도네시아 노동부 등과 지난 5개월 간 협의를 거쳤다. The ministry held five months of consultations on the project with the Korea Offshore and Shipbuilding Association (KOSHIPA) and Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower.

해외조선인력센터에서는 의사소통에 필요한 한국어와 한국 조선 현장에 맞는 기술을 배울 수 있다. 3개월간 1차로 30~40명에게 한국 조선사들이 요구하는 용접 기술을 교육할 계획이다. The center will teach Korean necessary for communication and technology customized for Korean shipbuilding. In the first three months, it will train 30-40 people in welding skills required by Korean shipbuilders.

조선업에 적합한 선급 용접 자격증 취득 과정, 한국어능력시험(TOPIK) 준비 과정, 안전교육 과정 등 다양한 프로그램도 제공할 예정이다. The facility will also offer programs like courses on shipbuilding welding certificates, preparation for the Test of Korean Proficiency (TOPIK) and safety education.

산업부는 "센터 시범사업을 통해 개선점을 보완해 나가면서 교육생 확대 등 센터역할을 강화하고 다른 국가로 확장도 추진할 계획"이라며 "관계 부처 협의를 거쳐 공적개발원조 연계와 비자 발급 간소화 등과 같은 제도적 지원 방안도 검토하겠다"고 밝혔다.

"We plan to boost the center's role by expanding the number of trainees and complementing points of improvement through a pilot project and expanding to other countries," the ministry said. "Through consultations with relevant government branches, we will also review modes of policy support such as links with official development assistance and simplification of visa issuance."

작년 취업하러 한국 온 외국인 17만 3천명···역대 2위 - 173K foreign nat'ls came for work in 2023, 2nd most in history

지난해 일자리를 찾아 국내로 입국한 외국인이 17만 명을 넘어서며 역대 두 번째로 높은 수치를 기록했다. More than 170,000 people from abroad last year came to the country to look for work, the second-highest figure in the nation's history.

통계청이 11일 발표한 ‘2023년 국제인구이동통계’에 따르면 지난해 체류기간이 90일을 초과한 외국인 입국자 수는 48만명으로 전년 대비 6만7000명(16.2%) 증가했다. 취업 목적으로 입국한 외국인 수는 17만3000명으로 지난 2008년(17만6399명) 이후 15년 만에 최고치다.

Statistics Korea's 2023 report on movement by the international population released on July 11 found that the number of foreign nationals staying in the country for over 90 days was 480,000 last year, up 16.2% (67,000) in 2022. Among them, 173,000 came for jobs, the highest since 176,399 in 2008.

외국인 체류자격별 구성비는 취업(36.1%), 단기(21.0%), 유학·일반연수(17.3%), 영주·결혼이민(12.1%) 순이었다. 외국인 입국자 3명 중 1명 이상이 취업 목적으로 입국한 셈이다.

By residential status, 36.1% came for employment, 21% short stays, 17.3% study and general training, and 12.1% permanent residency and marriage immigration. This means that over a third of them came to find work.

농어촌 인력부족 문제를 해결하기 위해 외국인 계절근로자제도를 개선하고, 고용허가제 규모를 확대한 영향으로 풀이된다.

The rise was apparently thanks to improvements in the employment system for seasonal foreign workers and expansion of the Employment Permit System to alleviate the labor shortage at farming and fishing villages.

국적별로는 중국(13만2000명), 베트남(7만1000명), 태국(3만5000명) 국적이 외국인 입국자 중 49.6%를 차지했다.

By country, China sent the most foreign jobseekers (132,000), followed by Vietnam (71,000) and Thailand (35,000). All three countries accounted for 49.6% of the total.

통계청에 따르면 외국인은 모든 연령대에서 순유입됐으며, 20대의 순유입 규모가 8만1000명으로 가장 많았다. Statistics Korea also reported net inflow of foreign nationals across all age groups, mostly those in their 20s with 81,000.

‘전북특별자치도 외국인 유학생 취업박람회’가 27일 전주대에서 열린다. Jeollabuk-do Province on June 27 will host a job fair for international students at Jeonju University in the provincial capital of Jeonju.

이번 박람회는 교육부가 외국인 유학생들의 지역 내 기업 취업과 정주를 지원하기 위해 올해 처음 진행하는 사업이다. 박람회는 첫 개최지인 전북을 시작으로 올해 10월까지 경북 경일대, 전남 목포대, 부산 경성대, 충북 충북대에서 잇따라 개최될 예정이다.

The event is the first project this year of the Ministry of Education to help such students find a job in a provincial region. Starting in Jeollabuk-do, the fair through October will tour the nation and be held at Kyungil University in Gyeongsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province; Mokpo National University in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do Province; Kyungsung University in Busan; and Chungbuk National University in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do Province.

전북에서 열리는 박람회엔 전북 도내 지역 12개 대학의 외국인 유학생 600여 명, 지역특화형 비자(F-2-R) 발급 가능 기업 14개, 전문인력 비자(E-7) 발급 가능 기업 12개 등이 참여한다.

An estimated 600 foreign students at 12 universities in Jeollabuk-do are expected to attend, as well as 14 companies that can issue a region-specific residency visa (F-2-R) and 12 others that can give a professional occupation visa (E-7).

교육부는 기존의 기업체 소개 및 정보 제공 중심의 박람회와 다르게 이번에는 사전에 구인·구직 정보를 연결하고 행사일에 면접 등 채용 절차를 진행한다. 이를 통해 외국인 유학생들의 취업 효과를 높이고 유학생들의 구직 수요와 국내 중소기업의 구인 수요 간 불일치를 해소할 방침이다.

Unlike conventional job fairs that focus on providing information and introducing companies, the ministry will connect jobs offered and job search information ahead of time and conduct recruiting procedures such as on-site interviews on the day of the fair. The aim is to help students more effectively land jobs and remove the gap between demand from students seeking jobs and that from small and medium-size companies needing workers.

유학생들이 국내 취업을 원활히 준비할 수 있도록 전주 출입국·외국인사무소의 비자 상담, 노무·금융 등의 생활상담도 진행한다. 또한 정부초청장학생(GKS)으로 이미 한국에서 유학하고 있는 외국인과의 1:1 상담을 제공한다.

Visitors can also receive visa, labor and financial consulting from Jeonju Immigration Office to better prepare for finding a job in the country. They can also get one-on-one sessions with foreign students on the Global Korea Scholarship.

박성민 교육부 기획조정실장은 “외국인 유학생과 지역 내 기업과의 현장실습·인턴 및 취업 연계로 해외 인재의 국내 정착을 유도하겠다”고 말했다. Park Sung Min, deputy minister of the ministry's Office of Planning and Coordination, said, "We will encourage foreign talent to settle in the country by linking them to on-site training, internships and employment with regional companies."
