나: 네, 재가 들은 바로는 매각이 3월로 예정되어 있다고 하더라고요.

This expression is used to indicate the immediately preceding content, thing or method. It is generally used as part of a variety of expressions, including -는 바로는, -는 바가, -는 바를, -는 바에 대해, -는 바에 의하면/따르면, -는 바와 같이 and -는 바가 있다/없다.

1. This expression is sometimes used as -(으)ㄹ 바，but in such cases, it is used idiomatically as shown in the following examples.
• 몸 둘 바를 모르다: 그런 칭찬을 들으니 몸 둘 바를 모르겠네요.
to not know where to put one’s face: Hearing such words of praise, I don’t know how to react.
• 할 바를 다 하다: 나는 할 바를 다 했으니 이제 결과는 하늘에 달린 것 같아요.
to do all that one can do: I’ve done everything I can do, so the result is now up to the Heavens.
• 어찌할 바를 모르다: 기자의 갑작스러운 질문에 김영수 의원은 어찌할 바를 몰라했다.
to be puzzled or perplexed: The Congressman, Kim Yeongsu, was perplexed by the reporter’s sudden question.

2. When the form -는바 is used, it indicates a fact and its related situation, basis, or background information necessary to convey some piece of information in the following clause.
• 다음 주부터 장마가 시작되는바 비 피해가 없도록 철저한 준비를 해야 할 것입니다.
Because the rainy season begins next week, we have to thoroughly prepare so that there will be no rain damage.
• 세계 경제의 침체로 올해도 낮은 경제 성장률이 예상되는바 정부는 일자리 창출을 위해 많은 지원을 할 예정이다.
Because economic growth for this year is predicted to be low due to the world economic recession, the government plans to largely support job creation.
