“메르스" 한국 착륙, 공포감 확산
지난 2012년 중동 지역에서 처음 발견되어 이백 명에 육박하는 사망자를 낳았던 신종 바이러스 “메르스"에 감염된 첫 한국인 환자가 발생했다고 지난 20일 보건당국이 밝혔습니다. 메르스는 중동 지역에서 집중적으로 발생한 바이러스로, 고열, 기침, 호흡 곤란 등 심한 호흡기 증상을 일으키는 치사율 40%에 달하는 바이러스입니다. 명확한 감염원과 감염 경로는 확인되지 않았으며, 3일 현재까지 두 명의 사망자가 발생했고 25명이 확진 판정을 받았습니다. 이 중 3차 감염자는 3명인 것으로 알려졌습니다. 발병 가능성이 있어 격리 조치된 사람의 수도 현재 1000명을 넘어섰습니다. 환자가 발생한 지역의 인근 학교들 중에는 예방을 위해 휴교 결정을 하는 곳들이 점점 늘어나는 등 메르스로 인한 불안감이 점점 커지고 있습니다.On May 20, health authorities announced that we had the first Korean patient infected by a new type of virus called “MERS”, which was first found in the Middle East area in 2012 and resulted in almost 200 deaths.
