문화재청, 우즈베키스탄 아프로시압 박물관 새 단장 지원 - Cultural heritage bodies help museum reopen in Uzbekistan

우즈베키스탄 아프로시압 박물관이 문화재청과 한국문화재재단의 지원을 받아 새 단장을 마치고 13일(한국 시간) 재개관했다. The Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA) and Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation (CHF) have helped Afrasiab Museum in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, to reopen.

또 한국의 건립 지원을 받은 사마르칸트 고고학연구소 내 국가유산종합관리센터도 이날 문을 열었다. Korean support also assisted in the opening that day of the Heritage Management Center of the Samarkand Archaeological Institute.

한국과 우즈베키스탄 두 나라는 채수희 문화재청 문화재활용국장, 김동하 한국문화재재단 기획이사, 김희상 주 우즈베키스탄 대한민국 대사를 비롯해 아지즈 이나가머비츠(Aziz Inagamovich) 우즈베키스탄 문화유산청 부청장, 사마리딘 무스타포쿠로프(Samarridin Mustafokulov) 아프로시압 박물관장, 사이도프 무민혼(Saidov Muninxon) 사마르칸트 고고학연구소장 등이 참석한 가운데 재개관식과 센터 현판 제막식을 각각 개최했다.

The ceremonies for both the museum's reopening and the center's launch were attended by CHA Director General Chae Suhee; CHF Executive Director of Planning Kim Dongha; Ambassador to Uzbekistan Kim Heesang; Aziz Inagamovich, director general at Uzbekistan's Agency of Cultural Heritage; museum director Samarridin Mustafokulov and the institute's head Saidov Muninxon.

이번 행사는 우즈베키스탄 문화유산 국제개발협력(ODA) 사업에 따른 것이다. 문화재청과 한국문화재재단은 지난 2022년부터 2차 ODA 사업의 하나로 아프로시압 박물관 환경 개선공사와 국가유산종합관리센터 건립을 지원했다. 앞서 2020~21년 1차 ODA 사업 땐 우즈베키스탄 내 박물관들의 역량 강화와 환경 개선을 도왔다.

The events were part of official development assistance (ODA) for Uzbekistan. The second round of this ODA had CHA and the CHF from 2022 assisting the museum's environmental improvement construction and the center's establishment.

In the first ODA round from 2020-21, both agencies supported reinforcing staff capacity and improving the museum environment in the Central Asian nation.

이번 2차 ODA 사업을 통해 아프로시압 박물관의 1층 전시실과 궁전 벽화 전시실이 새롭게 단장을 마쳤고, 지붕 시설도 교체됐다. The second round refurbished the museum's first-floor exhibition hall and the facility where a famous palace mural hangs, as well as replace the roofing system.

아프로시압 박물관은 7세기 바르후만 왕의 즉위식에 참석한 고구려 사신단의 모습이 그려진 궁전 벽화가 전시된 곳이다. 1400년 전 고구려의 국외 문화교류 역사를 단적으로 보여주는 귀중한 유산을 관람할 수 있다.

The mural depicts a diplomatic delegation from Korea's Goguryeo Kingdom in the seventh century attending the coronation of King Varkhuman in Samarkand. This valuable piece of heritage clearly shows Goguryeo's history of international cultural exchange from about 14 centuries ago.

문화재청과 한국문화재재단은 국가유산종합관리센터에 유물분석용 엑스레이(X-ray)를 비롯한 유물 보존·분석 및 고고학조사 전문 기자재도 지원했다. CHA and the CHF also gave the center specialized equipment for preservation and analysis of artifacts and archaeological surveys, including Central Asia's first X-ray machine to research relics.

문화재청과 한국문화재재단은 앞으로도 우즈베크어로 된 보존 처리 지침 제작, 우즈베키스탄의 문화유산 보존관리 전문 인력양성을 적극 지원하는 등 문화유산 분야에서 우즈베키스탄 정부와 유기적인 협력을 지속해 나갈 계획이다.

This is expected to make the center a specialized think tank that organically conducts archaeological research on and scientific analysis of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage.

CHA and the CHF will continue their cooperation in cultural heritage with Uzbekistan through activities like setting preservation treatment guidelines in Uzbek and providing major support for human resource development for the preservation and management of the country's cultural heritage.
