Are taekkyeon and taekwondo the same?

Taekkyeon and taekwondo are both Korean martial arts. Both do not use weapons, but are practiced using bare hands. Taekkyeon was depicted on the walls of the ancient tombs of Goguryeo. Therefore, it is hypothesized that it started in the Three Kingdoms period. Taekkyeon attacks and defends by using smooth, circular movements of the body. Unlike the above, in taekwondo, there is a lot of movement with stances and the use of power. The name taekwondo has been used since 1955. In 2000, taekwondo was adopted as a sport at the Summer Olympics. At present, not only Korean people but also people in many countries all over the world learn taekwondo.
